Vintage Poetry

A VINTAGE IS WEATHER DEPENDENT

We’re on alert for most months of the year worrying about how the next vintage will turn out. While at Shearing The Vines 2017, I quoted a stanza at the beginning of the day from John O’Brien’s poem written in 1921, ‘Said Hanrahan’. It’s a great old Australian poem.

It was near perfect weather for Shearing the Vines, as has been the 2017 vintage. I’m predicting some great wines will come out of our vineyards from this vintage including the 'Shearer's Cut' Shiraz created from the event.

Cheers,
