We like our rosé fresh and lively - which is why it’s based on Sangiovese... famed for its crisp acidity and bright aromas and flavours. Floozie will no doubt make for a happier human race – or at least for a few select members who partake of this wine!
Sangiovese is a grape that has a lot going for it. However, if you really want to make this wine ‘sing’ it needs a little touching up with something else and in this vintage, that is a splash of Grenache and Sauvignon Blanc.
Our 2014 vintage of 'The Ratbag' Merlot has escaped! The new vintage 'Ratbag' displays plum characters supported by threads of rosemary and thyme. Add the perfume of the 2014 vintage and the famed ripe cherry notes and you have an alluring wine.
James Halliday - "Potent blackcurrant and bay leaf aromas lead into a full-bodied palate, tannins a positive feature adding a note to 'take me seriously'."
“Shiraz and McLaren Vale”. A famous pairing. But why the connection? Shiraz in McLaren Vale grows well, always ripens, and with correct vineyard management, produces wines of great depth, flavour and structure.

The Muscat grape has a unique flavour that once tried is never forgotten. It is probably the only grape that produces wine with the same aroma as the grape itself. Sweet Muscats have the flavours of raisins and oranges.
James Halliday - "Full-bodied in every respect: black fruits, new oak, dark chocolate, licorice, plum, blackberry, cedar and ripe tannins. Savoury nuances appear briefly, then swallowed up in the swarm of rich flavours."
James Halliday - "Bright crimson-purple; this opens with attractive dark fruits, then does a right-hand turn on the back-palate and finish as tannins clench their fists. 5 or so years in the cellar should result in a wine for the fruit."
