Behind the Scenes - The Floozie

Sangiovese is the perfect grape for our Floozie – a heady perfume, supple where it counts, and with just enough structure to avoid appearing too sweet.

The vines lining McMurtrie Road are often our first harvest; we aim to bring them in as the colour blushes and the vibrant primary fruit flavour is right to linger and entice. The grapes are immediately sent to the press where we hold them just long enough to extract the basis of her bouquet and to achieve the characteristic Floozie tint. Fermentation is long and cool to generate and maintain an estery perfume. Once done, we rush to bottle to capture all of this intensity.

A fine balance of delivering never too little and never too much.
