McLaren Vale is the source of many fine wines but it isn’t as often associated with Sauvignon Blanc as some other regions. The truth is this intruder has every bit as much punch as its better-known neighbours – perhaps even a little more.

Vintage | 2019 |
Region | MCLAREN VALE |
Grape Varieties | Sauvignon Blanc |
Winemaker's Notes | Vintage 2019 started for us with a visit to this vineyard. Where we would usually sample and see how the fruit was developing over a number of weeks, we harvested this one almost immediately after that first visit, and the timing has proven just right. |
Drink | Now through 1 year |
Bouquet | Gooseberry, light florals, lemon zest and thyme. The wine wafts readily from the glass with a subtle tropicality; honeydew, rockmelon, and passionfruit. |
Palate | A zesty palate of white flowers, peach blossom, and green apple. Fine textured and lingering. |
Food Match | Ginger and scallion fish dumplings, or ginger, shiitake, and tofu Chinese dumplings. |
Analysis | ta: 5.7 g/l | ph: 3.29 | alc: 13% | RS: <2.5g/l |
