'Terroir' is a word that encapsulates the taste of a wine due to its unique environment - altitude, climate, rainfall, temperature and soil. The Black Blood trio are each from a different Hugh Hamilton vineyard with a distinct terroir.
It began nearly two centuries ago. Our family planted grape vines in South Australia in 1837 and made the first wine in the colony. Those vine cuttings arrived, dipped in wax. ‘Pure Black’ carries our Hamilton family story into the 6th generation.
